A Simple Act of KINDness
Dear Friends,
Thank You for visiting earthKIND. Whether you learned about us through a friend or we've had the pleasure of meeting, I'm happy you are here.
For those of you who don't know me, I'm pursuing my undergraduate degree in Environmental Science at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg. While I enjoy being a student, I'm happiest when I know I'm making a difference in the world. That means, volunteering on a project that helps restore a natural habitat, bringing people together to support a worthy cause or simply walking the beach and enjoying nature and people.
It was through my involvement with environmental projects and research that I started to become aware of how much we took from the Earth and how little concern we had for the consequences of those actions. I also realized that through my school years there never was one single course that educated students on environmental stewardship. The words "sustainability," "social responsibility," or "healthy lifestyles" were concepts that we didn't learn in the classroom.
But the good news is that out of this awareness a vision to create earthKind humanKIND Community was born. And, I'm happy you have given me an opportunity to share this vision with you and hope you will support me in some way to bring this community to life.
I'd like to also give my deepest gratitude to my mother, family, friends and community for supporting me on this project and encouraging me to step out in a leadership role and make a difference in the world. I love you all.
